One zip

Feel the breeze as you step on to the edge of the rooftop balcony of Canary Wharf’s iconic tower, 210 metres above the ground. Take in the rarely glimpsed panorama of the Capital and brace yourself for a once in a lifetime, 600 metre-long aerial dive, on one of the longest and steepest urban zip lines ever constructed.

Your day

On arrival at this iconic London landmark you’ll be welcomed into an exclusive VIP lounge on the 31st floor. From there, you’ll ascend 19 floors, where you’ll be met by London Fire Brigade’s expert technicians who will prepare you for your flight.

After soaring through the heart of London’s financial district, you’ll touch down at Westferry Circus, a stone’s throw from the River Thames. You’ll then board a London Fire Brigade fire engine and return to One Canada Square, where you can relive your experience with your friends and family.

The experts

London Fire Brigade is one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. Every day firefighters respond to a wide range of incidents across the capital.

Some emergencies require the skills, equipment and expertise of their Urban Search and Rescue Team, who will rig ZipLondon to ensure that every ride down One Canada Square is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The venue

Canary Wharf Group plc has overseen the largest urban regeneration project ever undertaken in Europe, designing and building more than 16.5m sq ft of London real estate, which houses local and international companies, and renowned retailers.

One Canada Square is part of the Canary Wharf estate, a major retail destination comprising around 1m sq ft across five shopping malls, including the award-winning leisure development, Crossrail Place, housing one of London’s most stunning roof gardens. Canary Wharf also has world-class, year-round arts and events programme offering over 200 diverse and culturally inspiring events performed throughout the Estate.

ZipLondon Project Manager, Terry Gooding, spoke recently about the rigorous testing and preparation that is taking place to ensure participant safety; “We are extremely confident that we will deliver a zip line experience that is very, very safe indeed,” he said.


The Fire Fighters Charity Chief Executive, Dr Jill Tolfrey: “We are so excited and grateful for this incredible opportunity to raise £1 million through ZipLondon. It is no exaggeration to say that this money will transform people’s lives, allowing us to do more to support members of the UK’s fire services community in need.”
